Kamala Khan isn't in the newest Marvel Cinematic Universe show, but that hasn't stopped Ms. Marvel star Iman Vellani from giving 12 reasons why everyone should watch it.
The MCU's latest television series on Disney+ is Wonder Man, starring Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Simon Williams and Ben Kingsley as Trevor Slattery. Simon has superpowers, but he is forced to keep this under wraps as he pursues his dream role in a superhero movie remake, and receives help along the way from Trevor, who is a fellow actor. While Trevor was also in Iron Man 3, All Hail the King, and Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, Wonder Man does not feature Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel (Vellani) or many other previously established MCU characters.
Nevertheless, Vellani has taken to Letterboxd to share her glowing review of Wonder Man. After giving it a four and half out of five stars and encouraging others to watch it, she shared a list of 12 reasons "to briefly tickle ur inner skeptic." This includes praise for how the series humanizes its superheroes and for being "something breathable and refreshingly uninterested in assaulting you with lore." She concludes by clarifying that Kevin Feige, the president of Marvel Studios, had no impact on her reaction: "This message was written under the pure influence of joy. Vellani's response is consistent with many Wonder Man reviews. On Rotten Tomatoes, it has an 89% critics' score and 88% audience score, with a common sentiment being that it is one of the best shows Marvel has ever made. The overwhelmingly positive reception is largely due to the unique way that the series approaches superheroes. In ScreenRant's review, Ben Gibbons explains that "the superhero aspect of the show becomes a sub-genre, or a category that remains a defining characteristic" and notes how the story has "humor, mystery, and tension, all while carefully existing inside a vast universe of stories, without feeling weighed down by that fact."

Coincidentally, other than Trevor, the only other returning MCU character in Wonder Man is Agent P. Cleary (Arian Moayed), who previously appeared in Ms. Marvel. In both stories, he works for the Department of Damage Control, which is intent on capturing Ms. Marvel and Simon. Despite being in both series, along with Spider-Man: No Way Home, knowing Cleary's full history is not needed to understand or enjoy Wonder Man.
It is unconfirmed when Ms. Marvel or Simon will next appear in the MCU, especially since Wonder Man season 2 has not been renewed yet. Regardless of whether they are in Avengers: Doomsday or another upcoming project, Vellani is bringing further recognition and praise to the MCU show, not as an actor or for corporate synergy, but as a longtime fan of superheroes and quality storytelling.
