The New England Patriots are getting ready for the Super Bowl, and after a practice on Monday, questions about Drake Maye’s shoulder injury were prevalent at Super Bowl Opening Night when media spoke to Patriots players and staff.

Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels was asked if Drake Maye would have any limitations in the Super Bowl after a shoulder injury had limited him at practice last week.

“Nope,” McDainels said, per The Boston Globe’s Ben Volin.

McDaniels’ comment aligns with what Maye told the media as well. When asked about his injury, Maye told reporters he felt good and threw as much as he would on a normal day.

“I threw a good bit (today). I threw as much as I would in a practice, and it felt great,” Maye said.

“I feel good,” Maye added. “I’ll be just fine.”

Maye was limited in practice last week, but did not practice at all on Friday. Head coach Mike Vrabel noted that he would have practiced if not for an illness he was dealing with on Friday. However, Vrabel also noted that Maye did not throw as much as he would on a normal day on Thursday, when he was limited.

Maye is an MVP candidate, and having him at 100% will go a long way in helping the Patriots pull off an upset. Despite their stellar season, the Patriots are still underdogs in the game.

The Seattle Seahawks have a great defense, but the Patriots are no strangers to elite defenses during this run.
