MCU Weekend Post Credits: Wonder Man Now Streaming, Daredevil Season 2 Trailer, Magneto Doomsday Spoilers, And More

Wonder Man Now Streaming on Disney+ — As of January 27th, all eight episodes of Marvel's critically acclaimed Wonder Man series are now streaming on Disney+, a fantastic new MCU show starring Yahya Abdul Mateen II as Simon Williams and Sir Ben Kingsley as Trevor Slattery. Like most who have seen the new series, I can't stress enough how good the show is, one of the most unique and most character-driven shows Marvel Studios has ever made.

Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 Trailer Released — January 27th also saw the release of the first trailer for Daredevil: Born Again season 2. Confirmed to begin streaming on March 24th, the new season will kick off Daredevil and Mayor Fisk's vigilante war in earnest, with Kristen Ritter's Jessica Jones confirmed to be returning to the MCU as well.

Ian McKellen Accidentally Spoils Magneto Details In Avengers: Doomsday — During an interview speaking on his past work as Magneto, Sir Ian McKellen accidentally revealed some surprising Avengers: Doomsday details about Magneto, claiming that the Master of Magnetism will at some point cause some major destruction in New Jersey. While the context was thankfully not revealed, it is a fascinating reveal all the same. After all, Ms. Marvel lives in New Jersey (who does possess the X-gene in the MCU).

Sam Raimi's New Spider-Man 4 Comments — While promoting his new movie Send Help (now in theaters), Sam Raimi has naturally been asked several questions about his past work directing Sony's original Spider-Man trilogy starring Tobey Maguire. While he initially seemed to give a definitive update that he didn't have a future directing another Spider-Man movie, this week saw him recant somewhat, suggesting that despite his doubts about it ever happening, Raimi would love to make a fourth Spider-Man movie if the day ever comes.

Additionally, Raimi also debunked the longstanding rumor that Spider-Man 4 would have debuted Black Cat potentially played by Rachel McAdams. To his knowledge, auditions for a female antagonist never happened, and he only ever talked to John Malkovich about playing Adrian Toomes aka The Vulture.

Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool 4 Gets An Exciting Update — According to a new report from Puck, Deadpool actor Ryan Reynolds is "wisely focused" on developing a fourth Deadpool movie following the massive success of 2024's Deadpool & Wolverine. In the past, Reynolds has said he's envisioned future movies where Deadpool continues teaming up with other Marvel heroes and/or stays paired with Hugh Jackman's Wolverine.

DCU Weekend Post Credits: Jason Momoa's Future As Lobo, And New James Gunn DCU Teases

Jason Momoa as Lobo in Supergirl

Jason Momoa Addresses Lobo's DCU Future After Supergirl — Following last week's official full first look as Jason Momoa's Lobo in the DCU, this week saw Momoa confirming he currently only knows about Lobo's upcoming appearance in Supergirl this year. That said, he also mentioned how he'd love for "Lobo's own thing to be coming out."

Martian Manhunter's DC Universe Debut Teased By James Gunn — Releasing set photos from 2025's Superman, James Gunn gave our best look yet at the Chocos offices that were attacked by Ultraman in the movie's first act. In the comics, Chocos are the favored snack of The Martian Manhunter, generating all kinds of exciting hype for a potential J'onn J'onzz's debut in the DCU's future.

James Gunn Defends Screenwriter Christina Hodson — The internet saw a fair amount of debate and controversy after the reveal that Christina Hodson would be writing the script for Brave and the Bold, the same screenwriter who wrote 2023's The Flash, Birds of Prey, and the canceled Batgirl movie. This week, James Gunn defended Hodson online:

“I will only say anyone maligning Christina Hodson's screenwriting skills has almost certainly never read an actual screenplay by Christina Hodson — she's one of the writers who was with us early in the DCU planning stages,” Gunn said. “I don't think you can judge my writing based on films others directed, as massive liberties are sometimes taken.”
