For some reason I was under the impression that this game was on Wednesday. Evidently it is not. It’s on Tuesday! Let’s hope the players don’t make the same mistake! We can’t have anything less than full commitment for this one. No half-game efforts and then a comeback; we need a comeback straight away!
Chelsea are down 3-2 from the home leg and now we need to win by at least one (no away goals rule) to get things to extra time and maybe penalties. Win by two, and off to Wembley we go. Two games ago I would’ve said that was impossible. After back-to-back come-from-behind victories, I’d say it’s plausible.
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementMaking our task a bit harder will be the new absences of Estêvão, who’s on compassionate leave back in Brazil, and Jamie Gittens, who picked up a hamstring injury over the weekend. Dário Essugo, Roméo Lavia, Tosin Adarabioyo, and Levi Colwill remain out as well. I don’t believe Mamadou Sarr is eligible to play.
Liam Rosenior tried to rotate the squad for the game against West Ham, and that didn’t quite work out. Can the usual suspects summon some more energy?
Choose wisely.
