Hello Husky fans and happy signing day. The Huskies were able to sign another 4 star cornerback when Jeron Jones from Mission Viejo put pen to paper today. Jones, who is rated as the 30th best cornerback in the country by 247sports, is a ballhawk who makes plays all over the field. Listed at 6’0” and around 165-170 pounds, Jones isn’t the tallest corner, but he makes up for the lack of size with excellent instincts, and speed. The Huskies were able to beat out Texas A&M, and Alabama for his commitment when they landed Jones back in June. So far in his career Jones has accounted for 15 int’s playing in a very competitive league in Southern California. When you watch his film the comp I would have for him would be Sidney Jones (smart, instinctive cornerback).
With the Huskies set to lose a few defensive backs after this year the Huskies needed to reload the defensive back room and player of Jones caliber should be able to compete for early playing time. Husky fans please welcome Jeron Jones to Montlake.
