Donald Trump is making headlines by condemning the press once again.

The President of the United States recently called a female journalist “ugly both inside and out.” This occurred on Air Force One less than two weeks after he called Bloomberg reporter, Catherine Lucey, “piggy” when she asked him about the Epstein files.

Trump criticized the New York Times’ White House correspondent, Katie Rogers, on his Truth Social account. She seemingly offended him by stating that he could possibly be dealing with the “realities of aging in office.” Rogers explained that the president traveling less than he did during his first term was a major implication of that.

The writer of the story, Katie Rogers, who is assigned to write only bad things about me, is a third rate reporter who is ugly, both inside and out.

The piece also mentioned him seemingly on the verge of falling asleep at an event. The president has denied that this ever happened despite the moment going viral.

Trump continued his complaint, attacking the New York Times along with Rogers. He stated in his post, “The Creeps at the failing New York Times are at it again.” He also accused this article of being a “hit piece” and the publication an “ENEMY OF THE PEOPLE.”

The publication released a statement to People in response to Trump's social media post. Its representative says that it stands behind Rogers. They also praised her "first hand reporting" and its accuracy. The NYT went on to say that the President of the United States hurling insults at people doesn't change facts or her work.

The Times's reporting is accurate and built on first hand reporting of the facts. Name-calling and personal insults don't change that, nor will our journalists hesitate to cover this administration in the face of intimidation tactics like this. Expert and thorough reporters like Katie Rogers exemplify how an independent and free press helps the American people better understand their government and its leaders.

Abigail Jackson, a White House spokesperson, shared her own statement with People. She said that his "transparency" was one of the biggest reasons he was re-elected. She added that Trump isn't the only person who distrusts the media. She claimed that the general population is also doubting these publications' intentions and the biased messages that they are trying to spread.

President Trump has never been politically correct, never holds back, and in large part, the American people re-elected him for his transparency. This has nothing to do with gender – it has everything to do with the fact that the President’s and the public’s trust in the media is at all time lows
