...Panda Express x Compartés Collaboration: Four Limited-Edition Flavors
This collaboration features four limited-edition chocolate bars, each inspired by a classic Panda Express dish:
- The Original Orange Bar: Inspired by Orange Chicken®, with zesty orange bits, red chili flakes, and crispy rice in milk chocolate
- Honey Walnut Bar: Candied walnuts, crisp honeycomb, and golden honey in white chocolate
- Fortune Cookie Bar: Crushed fortune cookies in creamy white chocolate, with a special fortune inside
- Kung Pao Bar: Dried chili peppers, peanut bites, and flaky salt in rich dark chocolate
The bars retail for $11.95 each, with a gift box set available for $49.95 at Compartes.com/pandaexpress.
What People Are Saying
Andrea Cherng, chief brand Officer at Panda Express, said in a statement: “If there’s one thing we hope our guests feel when they visit Panda Express, it’s joy and comfort. That’s why partnering with Compartés—a brand that shares our passion for quality and heritage—was an easy yes.”
Jonathan Grahm, CEO and creative director of Compartés, said in a statement: “Compartés means ‘to share’ in Spanish, and that idea is really at the heart of this collaboration...We hope these bars bring people the same sense of comfort and delight that inspired us to make them.”
Alex Beene, a financial literacy instructor for the University of Tennessee at Martin, told Newsweek: “We've seen a flurry of promotions from restaurant chains in recent months, and this latest from Panda Express offering a free fortune cookie chocolate bar with purchase of select meals is much like the others an attempt to bring in more business at a time when the industry as a whole is struggling with cash-strapped customers avoided dining out."
Panda Rewards Program: Recent Changes and Ongoing Perks
The chocolate bar giveaway comes as Panda Express is updating its Panda Rewards program. The brand’s 'Good Fortune Gifts' monthly surprise initiative ended after September, following criticism that the rewards were less appealing to some users. While Panda Express has teased upcoming new perks for members, the free chocolate bar event is not tied directly to the rewards program.
The existing Panda Rewards allows members to earn 10 points per dollar spent, with customizable rewards ranging from free upgrades to entrees.
