Unlike ABC and NBC, the network started its 2025-2026 TV cycle a little later. Despite the longer wait for its premieres, it has allowed CBS' projects to continue airing in the last several weeks with barely any interruptions. More importantly, most of their projects are also able to release episodes all the way to December, ahead of the mandatory winter break.
That includes FBI, which now airs on Monday nights on the heels of FBI: Most Wanted and FBI: International cancellations. The flagship carries the once dominant franchise until its third spinoff, Tom Ellis and Nick Gelfhuss' CIA, debuts in February. For its own storytelling. FBI has already had a busy year, tackling the aftermath of Isobel's near-death cliffhanger in season 7, the loss of Dani Rhodes and the eventual introduction of Scola's new partner, Eva Ramos.
FBI Season 8 Is Taking A Mini-Break Ahead Of December

For the first time since it premiered back in October, FBI season 8 is taking a break from releasing a new episode tonight, November 24, 2025. As confirmed by the network, Dick Wolf's youngest procedural is on a mini-hiatus ahead of the final stretch of episodes before the mandatory holiday break in December.
Because CBS is airing the one-and-a-half hour Everybody Loves Raymond: 30th Anniversary Reunion special at 8 PM ET, certain shows in its Monday primetime block are affected. This starts with The Neighborhood season 8 not rolling out a new outing this week, while DMV's usual airtime at 8:30 PM ET gets pushed to 9:30 PM ET. The freshman comedy will then take over the final half hour of FBI's usual timeslot. Meanwhile, Watson season 2 will stay in its usual 10 PM ET schedule.
When FBI Season 8, Episode 7 Airs & What To Expect
Luckily, the disruption in CBS' Monday night programming is only going to be short-lived. FBI season 8 will return to its regular timeslot on December 1, 2025. In the episode titled "Fadeout," the New York field office tackles a case that starts when a Brooklyn apartment complex is rocked by an explosion. As Isobel and Jubal's team attempt to get to the bottom of the incident, they find out that the crime was set in motion by a convicted felon who is locked up in prison.
Elsewhere in FBI season 8, episode 7, Isobel is forced to finally make a decision on who her successor is going to be. For context, after almost dying to save the agency during the Forefront takeover attempt, she was welcomed back to work with a promotion. However, before she can officially move up, she will need to name the person who would replace her.
