Batman's new appearance is absolutely packed with villains from DC Comics, with one of them being Solomon Grundy, whose design is quite exciting. When it comes to villains in both live-action and animated DC projects, Solomon Grundy is not one of the most frequently employed. The character's limited speech must play a role in that decision, but Grundy is great.

His physically imposing status and distinct origin story make him an intriguing addition to any DC project he is in. Over the years, we have seen Solomon Grundy appear in multiple animated Batman series, as well as a few live-action projects, such as Gotham. Now, the DC villain is back in Batman's new TV show, and Solomon Grundy's design looks accurate.

DC Has Revealed What Bat-Fam’s Solomon Grundy Looks Like

Bat-Fam is Prime Video's new Batman series, and the show does a great job of using its stylized approach and unique spin on DC character dynamics to spotlight villains from the comics. For instance, Ra's al Ghul, Damian Wayne's grandfather, is a ghost that haunts Wayne Manor. Volcana was made younger by the Lazarus Pit and is now under Batman's care.

Those changes impact quite a few characters in Bat-Fam. When the series starts, Batman has managed to rid Gotham City of crime. However, that does not stay that way for long, with a few villains returning to set the city ablaze. Those villains include characters like Clayface, Mad Hatter, Killer Croc, and Solomon Grundy.

While multiple characters have different designs, when compared to the comics, I'd say Solomon Grundy looks fairly accurate to how most DC fans know him. Grundy wears a ripped suit, with the black contrasting with his chalk white skin. The marks of where the zombie's body was stitched together, like Frankenstein, are prominent. Fred Tatasciore voices Solomon Grundy in Bat-Fam.

How Bat-Fam’s Solomon Grundy Compares To Other Versions Of The DC Villain?

In live-action, Solomon Grundy appeared in both Gotham and Stargirl. In the Batman prequel series, Grundy had a cheaper, more realistic look. Instead of a towering figure, Cyrus Gold looked like a regular human with chalk skin and hair. Instead of stitched-up cuts, his markings were black vein-like lines. In Stargirl, Solomon Grundy looked more comic book-accurate.

Grundy was a huge CGI monster who had the same physically imposing presence he had in the comics and animation. His clothes were also ripped, with his chest laid bare. Bat-Fam's Solomon Grundy is closer to Stargirl's than Gotham's, though he has a more humanoid look than the monster of the live-action series, making the Batman show version different.
