Texas A&M (11-0, 7-0 SEC) continued its long-term stay at No. 3 in the US LBM Coaches Poll and the AP Top 12 after shutting out Samford 48-0, while the Aggie defense held the Bulldogs to just 77 total yards, even after the starters departed the game before halftime. On offense, star quarterback Marcel Reed, in just two quarters of work, produced 120 yards and three touchdowns to keep his Heisman hopes alive.

Still, Reed, like head coach Mike Elko and the rest of his team, is focused on finishing the regular season 12-0, heading into the Darrell K Royal Texas Memorial Stadium to take on No. 16 Texas (8-3, 5-2 SEC) with a trip to the SEC Championship Game on the line. Texas A&M is a lock for the College Football Playoff regardless of Friday night's outcome, while the Longhorns are desperate for a win to have any shot at the postseason.

Focusing on the SEC Championship Game, the path to Atlanta is clear for Texas A&M after Week 13, as a win against the Longhorns is the most straightforward path. However, if the Aggies fall in Austin, they'll still earn a spot if Alabama loses to Auburn and Ole Miss loses to Mississippi State.

For the rest of the field, Georgia needs either Alabama or Texas A&M to lose, while Alabama needs to defeat Auburn. For Ole Miss, which may be without a head coach if the Lane Kiffin-to-LSU rumors are true, the Rebels need to beat the Bulldogs and hope Texas A&M and Alabama fall on the road.

Texas A&M will face Texas on Friday, November 28, at 6:30 p.m. CT. The game will air on ABC.
