The Boston Celtics surprised their fans with a 117-114 win vs. the Detroit Pistons despite having starting center Neemias Queta on the bench injured with a sprained ankle sustained against the Orlando Magic earlier in the week. Boston did lose the rebounding battle as projected to the tune of 56-44, but shot 47% from beyond the arc and got to the line 27 times to Detroit's 18 to create the necessary margins to steal an unlikely victory from the Pistons on their own home court.
The Celtics never led by more than 7 points in what might be their best game of the season, but a win is a win in the midst of what is possibly the toughest remaining stretches of their 2025-26 regular season schedule.
