World of Warcraft: Midnight finally has a release date, and a huge aspect of it is coming sooner than you might think. The next expansion in WoW's lifeycle includes the typical expansion story and content we've come to expect, as well as the massive bombshell of player housing.
According to Blizzard, Midnight will arrive globally on March 2, 2026. However, players won't have to wait too long to interact with player housing, as Housing Early Access will officially kick off after The War Within's 11.2.7 update on December 2.

When March 2, 2026 hits, you'll be able to play World of Warcraft's next expansion, Midnight. Adequately named, you'll be fighting off the void while discovering both new and old locations across Azeroth.
Here is the complete breakdown of Midnight's story, in case you're a lapsed WoW player and are considering jumping back in:
"In Midnight, players will experience the next chapter in the Worldsoul Saga as things become more dire for the world of Azeroth. Xal’atath, the Harbinger, poses our greatest threat as she unleashes chaos in her wake with the ensuing invasion striking into the heart of the blood elf homelands in Eversong Woods. Arriving over the glittering elven kingdom of Quel'thalas, the looming Voidstorm threatens to extinguish all light and cover the world in darkness. Players will level up to 90 and explore four new and reimagined zones to uncover the heart of Xal'atath's machinations while seeking out new allies among the light and shadows alike."

You won't have to wait until 2026 to actually play a large chunk of what Midnight has to offer, though. Before that full launch, we're getting The War Within update 11.2.7, titled "The Warning," which will lead into the storyline of the upcoming Midnight expansion.
It also serves as an early access launch for player housing if you've pre-purchased Midnight. You can join a neighborhood and customize your house to your heart's content; just be aware that some player housing features won't be live untilMidnight's launch.

Blizzard notes that if you play through the WoW housing welcome questline (culminating in the "Welcome Home" achievement), you'll gain access to an array of rewards for other Blizzard games. This is a very straightforward and easy questline that shows you the basics of the player housing feature.
