The team at UHOP has a visitor, and he desperately needs their attention. Watson Season 2 returns next week with Episode 8, titled "Livvy Sees the Doctor," which sees terror strike Morris Chestnut's titular professional and his team when a man walks in strapped with a bomb and determined to find a cure for his nine-year-old daughter's illness. Although the good doctor is no stranger to danger, the hostage situation hitting so close to home will have him scrambling to defuse the tension and solve this medical emergency before anyone gets hurt. Ahead of the premiere, Collider can exclusively share a new sneak peek that shows the moment the desperate father, played by Paradise star Jon Beavers, walks through the door.
Before Beavers' character enters the scene, Dr. Watson gets a visit from a familiar face — Beck Wythe, played by NCIS: Hawaiʻi alum Noah Mills. Mills joined in a recurring role for Season 2 in a reunion with his The Enemy Within co-star, Chestnut, and, in this episode, he's here at UHOP to offer the team a hefty new tech upgrade. Although he's intrigued, Watson has cleared his schedule for the three Rs — reflection, recovery, and renewal. Alas, that much-needed break will have to wait when Sgt. Billy “Fitz” Fitzgerald (Beavers) drops by unannounced. He says he has an appointment for his daughter and makes it clear that he's not planning on leaving, despite Watson giving his assessment and a referral to a facility in Wisconsin. A trip that far isn't something he can afford, so he turns to desperate measures and reveals the bomb strapped to his chest, demanding that Livvy get help there and now.
Beavers' explosive arrival into the world of Watson caps off what has been a strong past two years for the actor. His most prominent role in 2025 has been on Dan Fogelman's breakout Hulu political thriller, Paradise, where he shone as the ill-fated Agent Billy Pace. However, he's also been a regular presence on the big screen of late, including appearances in the first chapter of Kevin Costner's western epic Horizon: An American Saga as well as in Paul Thomas Anderson's Best Picture favorite One Battle After Another. He'll add to what is shaping up as one of the most tense, life-threatening storylines thus far in a season full of twists.
'Watson' Season 2 Is About to Return to Its Old Night
Looking to the horizon, Watson only has a few more episodes before the doctor and his team take off for the holidays. Season 2 has accomplished plenty since the show's return, taking on more unusual cases, revealing that Sherlock is alive after all and played by Robert Carlyle, no less, and, more recently, introducing Watson's father, played by The Wire star Clarke Peters. After the midseason finale on December 15, the show will be off until Sunday, March 1, when it will finally return to its old night at the 10 p.m. timeslot, right after Y: Marshals and Tracker. The new FBI spin-off, CIA, will then take its place on Mondays.
Watson Season 2, Episode 8, premieres on CBS on Monday, December 1. Check out our exclusive sneak peek in the player above.
