This is a question, for sure.

Because on Monday, he was asked a question that maybe has never been asked in the lead-up to a Super Bowl.

"Is this a must-win game?" a reporter posed to Vrabel.

He took it in stride: "Every time we go out is a must-win game. That's kind of the attitude that I've always taken in the National Football League."

If we give the benefit of the doubt here, maybe the idea is that the Patriots could be pleased with a season that turned around from 4-13 to go all the way to the Super Bowl in just a year, even if they don't win it.

But, um, what?

If you win the game on Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks, you're Super Bowl champions. No one can ever take that away from a football player.

And a loss? The Super Bowl loser is rarely remembered, unless for an embarrassing or painful reason (like the Seahawks INT to lose to the Patriots a decade ago).

Maybe it's not must-win in the grand scheme of the universe. The sun will come up the next day no matter what (well, unless it's snowing).

But for a football player, the Super Bowl is the game they all dream of.

It's as must-win as it gets on the gridiron.
