The Oregon Ducks will be in Las Vegas on Monday night to take on the No. 22 Auburn Tigers in the Players Era Festival. The Ducks won the tournament last year in an eight-team field, though it has since expanded to 18 teams, with college basketball powers such as Alabama, Tennessee, Gonzaga, Houston and St. John's in the 2025 edition.
Oregon has the 13th-best odds to win it all, making it a considerable upset if they are to repeat as champions. While that's because of the highly-ranked teams in the field, just as much likely has to do with the Ducks' rocky start to the season.

But with their trio of Jackson Shelstad, Nate Bittle and Takai Simpkins, plus head coach Dana Altman, who always seems to get more from his group than the sum of its parts — anything is possible. Their attempt to defend their crown begins with a bout against the Auburn Tigers, who have a very balanced roster.
