Battlefield 6 is free-to-play for a limited time, and the trial period comes at the perfect time to give you a distraction from familial obligations over the long Thanksgiving weekend. The long-awaited first-person shooter is on pace to be the best-selling game of 2025, but a whole week of free access is hoping to rope in even more players.

You can play Battlefield 6 for free starting November 25 until December 2, giving you a whole week to try the game. Playing during BF6's free trial doesn't give you unfettered access to the full game; according to EA, three available playlists have been chosen to ease new players into the Battlefield experience and show them the breadth of content the game offers. All you have to do to play Battlefield 6 for free is download the Battlefield: RedSec client (the battle royale mode), which is already free-to-play. Once you boot RedSec, the free BF6 playlists will be available.

Battlefield 6 Is Free-To-Play From November 25 To December 2

If you've already downloaded Battlefield: RedSec, the free Battlefield 6 multiplayer playlists will become available starting November 25 at 7am ET, and will remain open to you until 7am ET on December 2. Existing RedSec players will have their stats carried over to the free trial, and any multiplayer progress made during the trial will carry over to Battlefield 6, should you decide to purchase the full game.

The Battlefield 6 free trial contains three playlists: Initiation Breakthrough, Team Tactical (Team Deathmatch and Sabotage), and All-Out Warfare (Conquest, Breakthrough, and Escalation). Initiation Breakthrough is designed to show new Battlefield players the ropes on one of the best BF6 maps, Siege of Cairo, and appears to be unavailable to veteran players who own the game.

Team Tactical includes classic Team Deathmatch – you go for kills and the team to reach the goal wins – and Sabotage. The latter puts teams in attacker and defender roles revolving around high-value cargo. All-Out Warfare is the classic Battlefield experience – larger teams, plenty of vehicles (depending on the map), and a greater emphasis on sandbox gameplay. The free trial playlists include the brand-new BF6 map Eastwood and the other post-launch map addition, Blackwell Fields.

Battlefield 6 Free Week Is Just In Time For The Holiday Weekend

In the United States, Battlefield 6's free trial is dropping just two days before Thanksgiving. It's smart on publisher EA's part to make BF6 free-to-play right as a lot of people will have plenty of free time during a long weekend. It's also an engaging, bombastic game to take your mind off the stress of hosting or visiting family for the holiday.

Many in the U.S. who work on a more traditional schedule will have at least a four-day weekend, and while we won't outright suggest you should be rude and ignore your family during Thanksgiving, you could make a lot of progress in Battlefield 6 with all that free time. Battlefield 6 has been one of the year's biggest successes in gaming, and this free trial has the potential to keep that momentum going as the holiday season kicks off.
