Michigan State basketball is heading to Florida for a pair of games this week, starting with a tilt against East Carolina on Tuesday afternoon.
The Spartans are one of four teams playing in this year's Fort Myers Tip-Off event, with Michigan State set to play the Pirates of East Carolina on Tuesday. Michigan State will follow that game up with a matchup against North Carolina on Thanksgiving as their second leg of this early-season event.
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementMichigan State comes into this game with a perfect 5-0 record on the year, with the Spartans picking up notable blowout wins over Kentucky and Detroit Mercy last week. The Spartans are looking for their first 6-0 start to the year since 2020.
East Carolina is off to a less than stellar start, with the Pirates sitting at 2-3 so far this year. The Pirates have lost three of their last four games, with their lone win being by one-point against a Division II school.

Game Prediction
Prediction: Michigan State 85, East Carolina 63
Michigan State is rolling right now and this is another game where they should be able to make easy work of their opponent. I anticipate the neutral site environment will feature more Spartans than Pirates, but it still won't be as comfortable as playing at the Breslin Center. So expect this one to be in relative striking distance until we reach the second half, with Michigan State eventually pulling away for the dominant win.
