Jaylen Brown has truly come into his own this season as a leader with the Boston Celtics, and former teammate Isaiah Thomas saw it coming from a mile away. Brown was just cutting his teeth as an NBA player when Thomas was still on the team, but even at that early moment in his career in the Association, the onetime King In the Fourth could see the outline of the player Brown as become today, per the man himself on a recent episode of the Celtics-produced "View from the Rafters" podcast.

"Man, Jaylen was a tough rookie to be around just because he already — this is the good thing about him — he already felt like he was so good at that age," recalled Thomas of a younger Brown in Boston.

"He already felt like he should have been starting, being the man, all of those things that are great qualities about Jaylen," he added. "But the biggest thing was his humility and asking questions at an early age."

"One thing about JB, he would sit and ask me questions just about, ‘Man, how do you do this every night? Like, how do you expect to lead every night? How do you expect to do the things that you do every night?’ And he’s seen the preparation," continued IT.

"He’s seen me, and I would always tell him the things that I’m expected to do is, you want these moments — you dream of these moments. You dream to be the man and to be a franchise player. So to see the things that he does today or to see the things that he’s done after I left -- it puts a smile on my face because I'd seen it at an early age."
