Avengers: Doomsday brings the X-Men into the Marvel Cinematic Universe in a major way, and the Avengers' new TV show proves that the mutants can work well in the upcoming film. So far, a few Marvel mutants have already appeared in the MCU. One of Marvel's biggest movies, Deadpool & Wolverine, introduced multiple mutants from past live-action Marvel movies.
Now, the X-Men as a team are part of Avengers: Doomsday's cast, with many actors from Fox's original X-Men movie franchise joining the MCU for the multiverse event. Some actors included are James Marsden as Cyclops, Patrick Stewart as Charles Xavier, and Ian McKellen as Magneto. The X-Men finally enter the MCU, and a new Marvel release shows it will work.
Marvel's New Avengers TV Show Sees The Team Fight Mutants

While all 2025 MCU movies and shows had come and gone, Marvel still had a few releases left after The Fantastic Four: First Steps arrived on Disney+. Marvel's new Avengers TV show is out now, with the two-part LEGO Avengers: Strange Tails offering a wild ride with many Marvel heroes and villains beyond just the Avengers.
At the start of the special, Magneto and his Brotherhood of Mutants go up against the Avengers. It serves as an action-packed opening for this lighter animated Marvel movie, showing how the mutants' powers match that of Earth's Mightiest Heroes. Magneto's placement as one of Marvel's most powerful characters is not forgotten, and putting him up against the Avengers shows his might.
The X-Men Make Perfect Sense For Avengers: Doomsday

After watching LEGO Avengers: Strange Tails on Disney+, I'm even more sure that the X-Men's MCU arrival in Avengers: Doomsday will work perfectly. First, having a beloved superhero team and cast as part of a universe that might be at risk of being destroyed adds emotional stakes to the Avengers movie. With the multiverse and incursions, Fox's X-Men just make sense.
Then, there is the fact that Magneto and the X-Men could be fighting the Avengers in Doomsday. After all, if an incursion between the X-Men's Earth and the MCU's happens, then the mutants might feel forced to fight to protect their world. That is where LEGO Avengers: Strange Tails comes in.
The new Avengers TV show is the perfect example of how thrilling the prospect of putting mutants up against the Avengers is. If that concept makes for creative action sequences in a LEGO movie, where comedy is the main focus, I can only imagine how epic the X-Men fighting the Avengers could be in the MCU. As such, Avengers: Doomsday becomes even more exciting.
