The Detroit Lions were holding their breath after wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown suffered an ankle injury in Week 13 that forced his early exit.
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementAfter the game, head coach Dan Campbell revealed that St. Brown didn't suffer a long-term injury, but he admitted the veteran wideout would miss time.
"So that's the good news, but that doesn't mean it won't be here for, could be a week or two maybe, if we're lucky," Campbell said of St. Brown's injury.
On Friday, NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reported that St. Brown is dealing with a low-ankle sprain and it looks like he'll avoid injured reserve.
"Lions WR Amon-Ra St. Brown is believed to have suffered a low ankle sprain Sunday, sources say, and while he continues to be evaluated, it’s good news so far on his chances for returning sooner than later," Pelissero reported.

The fact that St. Brown avoided a high-ankle sprain is huge news, as those can be four-to-six-week injuries.
Knowing how tough St. Brown is and how fast he typically heals, we wouldn't be shocked if he doesn't miss a single game.
However, even if he does miss the Week 14 game, which comes next Thursday, St. Brown will have a mini-bye before Week 15 because the Lions' game against the Los Angeles Rams that week falls on a Sunday.
