Nov. 24 (UPI) -- Former Baylor coach Art Briles will return to college football for the first time in nearly a decade after agreeing to coach Eastern New Mexico.
Sources told ESPN, On3 and Fox 26 KRIV about the agreement. Briles, who turns 70 next month, went 65-37 in eight seasons at Baylor from 2009 through 2015. He also led Houston to a 34-28 mark from 2003 through 2007.

Briles received a $15.1 million settlement from the Bears, who dismissed him when he had eight years remaining on his contract.
Briles went on to coach for Mount Vernon High School in Mount Vernon, Texas, and for Firenze Guelfi in Florence, Italy. He also was hired as an offensive coordinator at Grambling State in 2022, but resigned after widespread criticism.
Eastern New Mexico, a Division II program, fired former head coach Kelley Lee on Nov. 17. The Greyhounds (3-8) appointed Andrew McCraw as their interim coach.
"I appreciate coach Lee's service and his years of commitment to Eastern New Mexico University," Greyhounds athletic director Kevin Fite said.
"After evaluating the overall direction of the program, I believe new leadership is necessary to position Greyhound football for sustained competitiveness and long-term success."
