Unfortunately, another domino has dropped for the Wisconsin Badgers in their 2026 recruiting class. This time, it’s the de-commitment of four-star, blue-chip wide receiver Jayden Petit.

Petit, a top-100 recruit and a top-15 receiver in the Class of 2026, had been committed to Wisconsin since the summer. At the time, the Badgers had fended off some major programs for the top wideout, including the Oklahoma Sooners.

A 6’4, 195-pound wideout, Petit was considered the highest-rated wide receiver commit for the Badgers in the modern era.

Wisconsin had been fighting to keep both Petit and fellow four-star, blue-chip recruit Amari Latimer. While they’re trending up for the latter ahead of signing day, it became tougher for them to keep the former as seen by Wednesday’s decision.

Wisconsin still has a commitment from receiver Zion Lehrer in its 2026 class, but Petit’s de-commitment leaves them with only one in the cycle when they were initially hoping for three.

Let’s see if they can have some late momentum in the cycle at the position.
