According to the recent streaming charts, the hit animated film briefly dropped out of the top 10 over the weekend. While it's too early to determine how it will affect the Netflix Tudum rankings, it's a sign that Huntr/x's reign of dominance may be nearing its end. While the title slipped out of the top 10 over the weekend, KPop Demon Hunters has quietly crept back onto the charts in several countries, including the US, where it sits in 5th place between Train Dreams (6th) and The Carman Family Deaths (4th).
KPop Demon Hunters first premiered on Netflix on June 20, 2025, and since then, it has become Netflix's most-watched movie of all time and has remained in Netflix's Top 10 English Movies Overview for 22 weeks in a row. Meanwhile, its soundtrack has found massive success, earning five Grammy Award nominations, with the single "Golden" and generating over 1 billion streams. Despite its massive streaming success, KPop Demon Hunters didn't make a huge splash at the box office. With a reported budget of over $100 million and as a Netflix exclusive, the feature had two limited theatrical releases and generated only $25 million worldwide. While the Oscar 2026 nominees have yet to be announced, it was reported that KPop Demon Hunters is eligible.
What To Watch If You Enjoy 'KPop Demon Hunters'
Due to KPop Demon Hunter's streaming success, it was confirmed that the film is getting a sequel, scheduled to hit theaters in 2029. Since it'll take a while before we see what happens next, there are a handful of titles with a similar premise. Netflix is home to plenty of K-drama titles that could tug at the same heartstrings or feature similar fantasy vibes to the hit Netflix film, such as My Demon, a South Korean series on the platform, in which a female CEO teams up with a Demon through a contract marriage that benefits both.
Another popular title that involves demons is Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba. Based on the 2016 manga of the same name, it follows Tanjiro Kamado, who becomes a demon slayer after his family died due to a demon attack, and his sister, Nezuko, is transformed into one. His goal is not only to find a cure but also to defeat the Demon King, Muzan. All four seasons have already been released, and it's now adapting the "Final Battle" arc through film releases, with the first installment being Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle.
