They've put up two of the most incredible legacies that any high school football player can have.

On Wednesday, both Brayden DeVito and Grady Kinsey were named finalists for the Ohio Mr. Football award.

Both are set to play in state semifinals on Friday night. They're in the same classification, Division IV, meaning wins on Friday would pit them against one another in a state final the following week.

DeVito plays as a quarterback at Shelby High School.

In Shelby's last game, DeVito reached an incredible milestone. He surpassed 200 career high school touchdowns, when you count passes, runs, receptions and defense. It's at 201 TDs and counting.

  • 12,689 passing yards

  • 124 passing TDs

  • 4,445 rushing yards

  • 72 rushing TDs

Kinsey plays at Indian Valley High School.

Kinsey is Ohio's all-time leader in total touchdowns (136) and rushing touchdowns (131).

He ran for 2,585 yards and 40 touchdowns this season entering the state semifinals after IV won the state title in 2024.

Both seem likely to translate their games well into college football. And they'll be teammates after competing not all that far apart in the Buckeye State.
