New Pokémon Card Trademark Hinting At Massive 30th Anniversary Set

A new Pokémon Trading Card Game trademark filing for Celebration Collection has appeared, and it sure looks like we're getting a 30th Anniversary set.

The Pokémon Trading Card Game has released some excellent sets this year, including the most recent Phantasmal Flames. In the meantime, the TCG has also announced multiple sets arriving in 2026, offering fans a look at what to expect next year. Now, though, a new trademark appears to be hinting at a 30th Anniversary collection coming soon.

As uncovered by PokeBeach, a filing for "Celebration Collection" has been filed by the Pokémon TCG in Japan, although the name is fully in English. "It's under the same terms as trademarks used for set names in the past," confirms the popular fan site. Commenters were more than excited for the reveal. "We finna to eat," exclaimed one user.

Pokémon Has Trademarked "Celebration Collection" In English

The trademark filing isn't explicitly for a new set, but it seems incredibly likely. "Celebration Collection" sounds strikingly like the Celebrations moniker used for Pokémon's 25th Anniversary. If true, it will join a growing list of confirmed Pokémon TCG sets releasing in 2026. So far, no cards for the set have been shown off.

To date, half a dozen new Pokémon TCG sets have been confirmed for Japan for late 2025 and 2026. A few English set names have leaked, and Ascended Heroes was officially confirmed last week as the first English set of the new year. The upcoming 2026 sets are all expected to be a part of the current Mega Evolution series, which brings back the popular Gen 6 gimmick that's a major part of the Pokémon Legends: Z-A video game.

Signs Point Toward A 30th Anniversary Set Releasing In 2026

As a franchise, Pokémon has been known to celebrate milestones via its popular TCG for some time now, including a popular Charizard set from its 20th Anniversary. Most recently, Pokémon's 25th Anniversary in 2021 garnered a number of commemorative cards, including those in McDonald's Happy Meals that led to rampant scalping. However, the Pokémon TCG also released the Celebrations set, which had specially-marked cards to ring in the occasion.

The new "Celebration Collection" sounds similar, and, naturally, gives credence to the fact that a set celebrating Pokémon's 30th Anniversary is incoming. The set is releasing in 2026, which just so happens to be the 30th Anniversary, so the timing makes complete sense. Hopefully, the upcoming batch of Pokémon TCG cards won't fall prey to scalping, which continues to be a problem. And, hopefully, we'll get a look at the set and its cards soon.
