Life has been great for Luka Doncic nine months after the Dallas Mavericks traded him to the Los Angeles Lakers.

After Sunday night's win over the Utah Jazz, the Lakers are now 12-4 on the season, tied for second place in the Western Conference team standings. Doncic has been the key to their success, having an MVP-caliber season — he's averaging 34.6 points per game while also averaging 8.5 rebounds and 9.0 assists.

However, the 26-year-old hasn't only been excelling on the court. He's also on a roll away from it.

In September, Doncic purchased Maria Sharapova's Manhattan Beach mansion for $25 million. Recently, he bought a black Bugatti W16 Mistral Roadster, valued at $5 million.

On Friday, the Lakers got an unexpected visit from superfan Snoop Dogg, who raved about Doncic's new car when he saw it parked at the UCLA Health Training Center, where the Lakers hold practice.

"I left my fu—n' keys at home… I woke up in a new Bugatti. Y'all like my new car? They're always standing in front of somebody's car that ain't theirs," joked the legendary rapper.

When Luka arrived, he said, "You're Batman now," referring to Mistral, which resembles the superhero's car.

A true beast on the road

The Bugatti Mistral is the fastest roadster ever built, setting a new record with a top speed of 282 mph during testing at the Papenberg track in Germany in November 2024. Powered by a ridiculous 8.0L Quad-Turbo W16 engine, it delivers a stunning 1,578 horsepower and can go from 0-60 mph in just 2.5 seconds.

Other features of the car include a lightweight bespoke carbon fiber body for aerodynamics and cooling, a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox transmission, an all-wheel drivetrain, and an adjustable rear wing and diffuser for stability and downforce.

Aside from being a beast on the road, it's also a collectible because only 99 Mistrals were meticulously built, hence it has a hefty price tag of $5 million, making it one of the most expensive hypercars in the market. However, when the client is a basketball star who had just signed a three-year $165 million contract extension last summer, it's worth the price.

The Bugatti is Luka's dream car

For Doncic, the new Mistral is one more car in his growing garage. During an interview with Overtime in 2024, when Zion Williamson, Paolo Banchero and Jayson Tatum were on their Asian tour for the Jordan Brand, Doncic revealed that he has a 13-car collection, including his favorite car at the time, the Brabus Rocket.

"This is a Brabus Rocket, there's only I think 25 in the world. Definitely, my favorite car,"said Luka. "Thousand horsepower, so it's very strong. And I like how it looks, you know, especially on the inside with the red details. But I like how it drives."

During the same interview, he was asked if it's true that his dream car is a Bugatti, and Doncic replied, "It is a Bugatti, but it's too expensive. So we'll see about that."

One year later, he is the proud owner of a Mistral roadster, a car that, according to Snoop, will attract a lot of attention in Los Angeles.
