Taylor Sheridan has delivered numerous hit shows on Paramount+. Since his Western drama Yellowstone went viral, the streaming platform has doubled down on the prolific writer, ordering more dramas. Four of them occupy the top positions on Paramount+'s top ten list, but they are yet to dethrone the number one show, South Park. Tulsa King, Landman, Yellowstone, and Mayor of Kingstown are competing for the coveted position on the streamer, but none can beat the 28-year-old cultural juggernaut that is South Park.
Sheridan takes on various roles in the four series, mainly as an executive producer, writer, or director. Tulsa King is a crime drama starring Sylvester Stallone as Dwight Manfredi, a New Jersey Mafioso who gets exiled to Tulsa, Oklahoma, after spending decades in jail. There, he carves out his own path, but it's not without its challenges. Landman is set in Texas and stars Billy Bob Thornton as Tommy Norris, a fixer who works the oil fields of the boomtowns. Like Dwight, the job is as challenging as it is risky.
Yellowstone tells the story of the Dutton family, a ranching family with a business going back centuries. They find themselves in the middle of various conflicts as the world changes and wants to blow them out of existence. Kevin Costner starred as John Dutton before exiting the show in the final season. Mayor of Kingstown is a crime thriller starring Jeremy Renner as Mike McCluskey, a fixer in the fictional town of Kingstown. He ensures that the balance between the prison system and the town that houses it is maintained, but not without hurdles.
These shows square off with the animated comedy South Park, which has been on the air since 1997. The satirical comedy revolves around four grade-schoolers who find themselves in the middle of adventures and misdaventures in their hometown of South Park, Colorado. It was created by Matt Stone and Trey Smith, and has found itself in the middle of numerous controversies given the people it satirizes. Over 330 episodes have aired so far.
What other Shows Are Trending on Paramount+?
The streamer boasts a variety of shows across genres and formats. Another long-running animated comedy, SpongeBob SquarePants, appears on the Top Ten list, followed by the Melissa Joan Hart comedy, Sabrina, the Teenage Witch. Long-running procedural NCIS also appears on the list, followed by the British crime drama MobLand. Recently joining these shows is the reality series German Shore, an offshoot of the American series Jersey Shore.
Stream all these shows on Paramount+ in the US and stay tuned to Collider for more updates.
