Back in 2021, Hannah’s love of all things nerdy collided with her passion for writing — and she hasn’t stopped since. She covers pop culture news, writes reviews, and conducts interviews on just about every kind of media imaginable. If she’s not talking about something spooky, she’s talking about gaming, and her favorite moments in anything she’s read, watched, or played are always the scariest ones. For Hannah, nothing beats the thrill of discovering what’s lurking in the shadows or waiting around the corner for its chance to go bump in the night. Once described as “strictly for the sickos,” she considers it the highest of compliments.

Collider is thrilled to team up with Dark Horse Books, Critical Role, and Amazon MGM Studios to officially reveal The Legend of Vox Machina: The Whitestone Chronicles Volume 3 — The Briarwoods, the final installment in the graphic novel prequel trilogy that expands the world of the hit animated series. We can also share a first look at the cover of The Whitestone Chronicles Volume 3 — The Briarwoods.
The new volume is written by Marieke Nijkamp (Critical Role: Vox Machina — Kith and Kin), with art by Aviv Or (The Tales of Exandria – Artagan), colors by Diana Sousa (Vox Machina Origins), and letters by Comicraft. Like the previous entries in the series, Volume 3 dives into the off-screen stories that shaped Season 1 of The Legend of Vox Machina, this time pulling back the curtain on Delilah and Sylas Briarwood before the fall of Whitestone.
A Closer Look at Delilah Briarwood's Rise

The Briarwoods follows Delilah long before she becomes one of Vox Machina’s most feared enemies. The story begins with her days as a prodigy at the Alabaster Lyceum, where her sharp intellect and tactical instincts set her apart. Her career advances at the Soltryce Academy, putting her within reach of the most powerful figures in the Dwendalian Empire and giving her the resources to pursue increasingly ambitious research.
Her path shifts after she meets Sylas Briarwood. Their relationship quickly becomes a marriage, but tragedy strikes when Sylas succumbs to a rare and fatal illness. Desperate to save him, Delilah turns to a powerful entity that restores what she lost, but only by reshaping both their lives into something new and monstrous. The graphic novel follows the couple as they begin a path that will eventually lead to the Whispered One and the future that haunts Whitestone.
The Legend of Vox Machina: The Whitestone Chronicles Volume 3 — The Briarwoods is an 80-page hardcover, scheduled to arrive in bookstores on June 30, 2026, and comic shops on July 1, 2026. The book is available now for preorder through Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and local comic retailers for 19.99 USD.
The Legend of Vox Machina, meanwhile, does not currently have a release date for Season 4. Critical Role’s second campaign-to-animation series, The Mighty Nein, is now running on Prime Video following its November 19 premiere.
