The gritty worlds of Diablo and Dark Souls are colliding in a new RPG that you can actually try for free right now, ahead of its release later this year. Both franchises are not only widely popular but have also revolutionized the genres to which they pertain, and since then, there have been several titles inspired by each of them. For example, No Rest for the Wicked is a 2024 Diablo-like RPG, even if it does have its own personality.
Now, a new game that blends Diablo and Dark Souls has entered the fray, and interested players may be able to test it out right now. Echoes of Myth is a new RPG scheduled to be released later this year. The game is available for wishlisting on Steam, and on that same page, you’ll find access to the free demo that allows you to check it out before it is officially released.
Echoes Of Myth Is Free To Try Now
The RPG Will Be Fully Released In March
Intense combat happens in Echoes of Myth.
This new Steam game’s demo contains a nice amount of content for you to try out. With the Echoes of Myth demo, you’ll be able to experience the entire gameplay loop through around 2/3 of the first zone in the game. According to the developers at Shifting Reality Interactive, via the demo’s page on Steam, this means nine different stages across two biomes with randomized area selection, rewards, and enemy setups.
There won’t be heavy narrative progression via the demo, though you’ll be able to get an initial grasp of what its tone will be like through the tutorial and introductory NPC dialogues. Aside from that, you’ll also be able to experience what the gameplay in Echoes of Myth feels like before its expected release on March 12 this year. This is where you’ll see why the game shares similarities with Diablo and Dark Souls at the same time.
A Diablo-Like With Dark Souls-Inspired Combat
Echoes Of Myth Also Has A Touch Of Hades

The top-down action RPG looks a lot like Diablo, and the several AoE abilities to fend off enemies are also reminiscent of those seen in Blizzard’s franchise. However, Echoes of Myth comes with a touch of mechanics seen in soulslike games. Enemies have telegraphed moves, and you’ll need to learn their movesets to have a better chance at surviving. Your healing options are described as “scarce” by the developers, so it will take some practice to master combat.
