Postseaon play kicked off Feb. 23 and 24 for area Class A and B high school girls basketball teams.
The top two teams in each Class A and B region tournament advance to 2026 SoDak 16 state-qualifying games on Thursday, March 5.

Region 1A
Second-seeded Groton Area, third-seeded Milbank and fourth-seeded Sisseton opened the tourney with home-court wins on Feb. 24.
Groton Area improved to 15-6 with a 45-19 win over seventh-seeded Britton-Hecla (4-17), Milbank Area (17-4) topped sixth-seeded Redfield (5-16) 32-14 and Sisseton (10-10) handled fifth-seeded Webster Area (7-14) 70-35.
Sisseton visits No. 1 Aberdeen Roncalli (16-4) and Milbank visits Groton Area in semifinal games on Feb. 26.
Region 2A
The No. 2, No. 3 and No. 4 seeds each posted first-round wins on their home courts on Feb. 24. No. 2 Sioux Valley (19-2) handled No. 7 Deuel (5-16) 72-22, No. 3 Clark-Willow Lake (18-3) beat No. 6 Elkton-Lake Benton (7-14) 60-30 and No. 4 Florence-Henry (10-11) edged No. 5 Great Plains Lutheran (8-13) 54-53.

Liberty Trygstad chipped in with 16 points, six assists and five steals and Amari Ward eight points. Camdyn Peterreins had 12 points and eight rebounds for Deuel.
Brynn Roehrich's 14 points and 16 rebounds led CWL, which also received 13 points from Kamryn Nesheim, eight points from Calla Larson and seven points from Jenny Bevers. Shelby Begeman grabbed 11 rebounds. ELB was paced by Charlie Thooft's 16 points and Sydney DeVries' seven points and 11 rebounds.
In semifinal games on Feb. 26, Florence-Henry travels to No. 1 Hamlin (19-1) and Sioux Valley hosts CWL.
Region 6A
Opening-round games on Feb. 24 included No. 2 seed Miller 63, No. 7 Stanley County 22; No. 3 Cheynne-Eagle Butte 85, No. 6 Crow Creek 34; and No. 5 Platte-Geddes 51, No. 4 Chamberlain 51-48.

Region 1B
Quarterfinal winners on Feb. 24 included top-seeded Waubay-Summit, No. 2 Northwestern, No. 3 Warner and No. 5 Hitchcock-Tulare.
Waubay-Summit pushed its record to 19-2 with a 58-27 win over No. 8 Leola-Frederick Area. Addison Heinje poured in 26 points for the Mustangs. Caley Boik contributed 11 and Brynlee Amdahl nine. Arabella Clark scored 13 for LFA (8-14).

Warner posted a 45-22 win over No. 6 Waverly-South Shore, which ended its season at 10-11.
Hitchcock-Tulare was the only road team to win, topping No. 4 Langford Area 60-40. Gracyn Bixler led the Patriots with 19 points, followed by Emmerie Arthurs and Regan Lutter with 14 each and Cambree Hoekman eight. Paytyn Marlow produced 13 points and Alex Darling 10 for LA (13-8).
In first-round games on Feb. 23, Leola-Frederick Area topped No. 9 Aberdeen Christian 54-20 and No. 7 Tiospa Zina turned back Wilmot 56-38. Aberdeen Christian finished 3-17 and Wilmot 2-19. Clark scored 16 points, Eden Podoll 15 and Kaitlyn Mueller eight for LFA. Arianna Johnson and Sophia Eichler each had five points and Reagan Jett seven rebounds for AC.

Region 2B
The top three seeds (No. 1 Arlington, No. 2 Castlewood and No. 3 Deubrook Area) posted quarterfinal wins on their home courts and No. 5 De Smet won on the road on Feb. 24.
Arlington (15-6) used 34 points and 16 rebounds from Jaelyn Huntimer to top No. 9 Oldham-Ramona-Rutland 75-42. Seeley VanOverbke added 13 points and eight rebounds and Lauryn Mutziger 10 points for the Cardinals. Brynlee Lingbeck collected 15 points and Brookelyn Riedel 14 points and eight rebounds for ORR (6-15).
Castlewood (13-8) cruised past No. 7 Iroquois-Lake Preston 56-36 with 15 points from Sophia Kudrna, 10 points and 10 rebounds from Ava Ruml, nine points from Cassidy Kirwan and eight points and five assists from Claire Horn. Hadlee Holt finished with 12 points and 11 rebounds and Bentlee Holt nine points for ILP (8-14).

De Smet (10-11) moved on with a 58-51 win over fourth-seeded Wessington Springs (13-8).
In first-round games on Feb. 23, ORR beat No. 8 Estelline-Hendricks 54-49 and ILP defeated No. 10 James Valley Christian 46-35. Khloe Olson tallied 19 points and nine rebounds and H. Holt 15 and 13 for ILP. Rylin Wipf scored nine points for JVC (2-18). Estelline-Hendricks ended its season with a 5-16 record.
In semifinal games on Feb. 26 at Dakota State University in Madison, De Smet meets Arlington at 6 p.m. and Castlewood and Deubrook Area square off at 7:30 p.m.
Region 6B
Top-seeded Highmore-Harrold, No. 2 Herreid-Selby Area, No. 3 Ipswich and No. 4 North Central all recorded quarterfinal wins on their home courts Feb. 24.

Other scores included No. 2 Herreid-Selby Area 63, No. 10 Sunshine Bible Academy 27; No. 3 Ipswich 52, No. 6 Gettysburg 34; and No. 4 North Central 44, No. 5 Faulkton Area 39.
Marley Guthmiller notched 23 points and seven rebounds, Brianna Geditz eight points and Tristan Geditz eight points, 11 rebounds and six assists for Ipswich (14-7). Peyton Stevens had eight points and 11 rebounds and Emma Schlachter eight and eight for Gettysburg (9-12).
In tourney openers on Feb. 23, Sully Buttes cruised past No. 9 Tiospaye Topa 77-13 and Sunshine Bible Academy knocked off No. 7 Wakpala 60-49. TT ended its season at 4-16 and Wakpala 8-11. Sully Buttes was led by Berkley Birney's 16 points. Scotlynn Kinney and Jaydn Jaeger each added 14. Madison Jeffries tallied nine points for Wakpala.
