A recent Avengers: Doomsday tease could be a bigger deal than most people realize. Set to star alongside other major X-Men from a version of Fox's universe, we now know one detail about Magneto in the upcoming MCU movie (which may be connected to something far bigger).
Following an accidental slip from Magneto actor Ian McKellen, one piece of his story in the next Avengers movie has been confirmed. While seeming to be relatively innocuous, there is an MCU theory suggesting the new Magneto reveal might actually be connected to a major surprise character.
Ian McKellen's Recent Avengers: Doomsday Teases For Magneto Explained

In a recent interview, Ian McKellen was reflecting on his time playing Magneto and seemingly let slip that the Master of Magnetism will destroy New Jersey in Avengers: Doomsday. The 87-year-old Marvel actor later repeated the Magneto/New Jersey detail in a second interview, adding credibility to the reveal (while also suggesting that Marvel gave him the go-ahead to mention it, as the cat was already out of the bag).
However, all we really know is that New Jersey is going to be attacked by Magneto. This begs the question: what's so important about New Jersey in the MCU? (There's really just one thing...)
Could Magneto's MCU New Jersey Attack Be Connected To Ms. Marvel?
x-men magneto Iman Vellani ms marvel
Assuming this Magneto attack occurs within the MCU’s Sacred Timeline of Earth-616, we know that New Jersey is home to Kamala Khan aka Ms. Marvel, who was last seen trying to assemble a team of MCU Young Avengers alongside Kate Bishop's Hawkeye.
More importantly, the end of her 2022 Disney+ series teased that Ms. Marvel is a mutant with an X-gene, not an Inhuman (and the comics have since followed suit with this change as well). Perhaps Magneto is trying to track her down and/or protect her from some bigger threat like Robert Downey Jr.'s Doctor Doom?
Although Ms. Marvel actress Iman Vellani hasn't been officially confirmed for Avengers: Doomsday or Secret Wars, there's bound to be characters and actors we don't yet know about.

Avengers: Doomsday is set to release in theaters on December 18th from Marvel Studios.
