While Bayern Munich’s men’s team have managed to get rid of their injuries, it looks like the Frauen aren’t as lucky because Alara Şehitler picked up an injury during training last weekend, per a report from Bayern’s official website:
FC Bayern midfielder Alara Şehitler sustained a partial tear of the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in her left knee in training on Sunday. This was confirmed by tests in Munich. The injury will be treated conservatively for now without surgery – further tests will be carried out to assess the success of the treatment. Head coach José Barcala and his team will therefore be without the 19-year-old Germany international for several weeks.
The Fritz-Walter gold medalist thus had to sit out Bayern’s impressive 6-0 over Carl Zeiss Jena, the only match she hadn’t played in other than a 4-0 win over Freiburg in September last year. That meant Alara has played in 24 of the Frauen’s 26 matches so far this season.
