Smith-Njigba was just named the NFL's Offensive Player of the Year after revitalizing the Seahawks' offense alongside Sam Darnold. In his first year as the Seahawks' undisputed No. 1 receiver, Smith-Njigba recorded 119 catches, 1,793 yards and 10 touchdowns in the regular season. He came into Super Bowl Sunday with 13 catches for 172 yards and two touchdowns in the postseason.
It was a quiet game for Smith-Njigba prior to his injury as Christian Gonzalez has excelled in coverage. Smith-Njigba has only three catches for 24 yards, while Super Bowl veteran Cooper Kupp has stepped up with six catches for 61 yards. Kenneth Walker has been the Seahawks' engine offensively with 22 touches for 131 all-purpose yards.
The Seahawks lead the Patriots 19-7 in the fourth quarter, and Smith-Njigba's return only helps their chances of locking up the Super Bowl.
