Run Away reveals a first look at a returning actor's twisted new mystery. Netflix's next Harlan Coben series stars James Nesbitt, who previously starred in Missing You (2025), as a father whose perfect life unravels after his daughter suddenly disappears.

Now, Netflix has released several new images from Run Away, which can be seen in the slideshow below:

Harlan Coben, who serves as an executive producer on Run Away, said to Netflix:

Run Away is about family — about what we will do to keep our family intact, what secrets we keep within our family, and what secrets we keep as a family. Every time you walk past the house, there’s a whole universe that goes on behind that door and none of us have a clue what it is.

The full synopsis for Netflix's Run Away, based on Harlan Coben's 2019 novel of the same name, reads as follows:

Simon (Nesbitt) had the perfect life: loving wife and kids, great job, beautiful home. But then his eldest daughter Paige ran away and everything fell apart. So now when he finds her, vulnerable and strung out on drugs in a city park, he finally has the chance to bring his little girl home. But it turns out she’s not alone, and an argument escalates into shocking violence. In the aftermath, Simon loses his daughter all over again, and his search to find her will take him into a dangerous underworld, revealing deep secrets that could tear his family apart forever.

James Nesbitt will appear alongside Ruth Jones, Minnie Driver, Alfred Enoch, and Lucian Msamati, who all appear in the newly released images.

The cast – which Harlan Coben calls "an embarrassment of riches" – also includes Jon Pointing, Ellie de Lange, Adrian Greensmith, Ellie Henry, Tracy-Ann Oberman, Annette Badland, Ingrid Oliver, Maeve Courtier-Lilley, Finty Williams, Joe McGann, and Amy Gledhill.

Adrian Greensmith previously appeared in Harlan Coben's Shelter (2023).

Harlan Coben sifted through numerous audition tapes to find the perfect actor for Paige, and he is now eager for audiences to watch Ellie de Lange bring the complex character to life:

Ellie really captured both the strength and the frailty of this character of Paige — what she’s going through and the secrets that she’s keeping. There’s a lot that she has to evoke here and emote in this character.

Harlan Coben adds that he instantly recognized James Nesbitt as the ideal fit for the role:

Jimmy just has so much range. He’s so natural and authentic at all times. He’s an empathetic actor in the sense that he feels, and then you feel for him.

Run Away, just like Missing You and Fool Me Once, releases January 1 on Netflix.
