If you're looking for something new to play on Steam, a new (technically old) RPG has just landed on the platform, and you can play it right now. Heck, a lot of you will be able to play it for free.

Guild Wars Reforged is a modernized version of the classic 2005 MMO, released to celebrate 20 years of the original. Less of a remaster, and more of an enhanced port, this is largely the game as you remember it from back in the day.

If you were looking for something new to play with friends over Christmas, this could well be the option for you, especially if you're into hardcore fantasy CRPGs with lots of lovely numbers.

Downloading the game (for free) will get you access to all three full campaigns from the original game: Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall. You'll also get eight character slots to create either a PvP-only character or a PvE roleplaying character. Not a bad bundle at all.

Here's the best part, though: If you already own at least one of the game's original campaigns, you can get this entire package completely free.

Clearly, this is something gamers have been waiting for. At the time of writing, Guild Wars Reforged is at the very top of SteamDB's trending games and popular release tabs, and I suspect it will only continue to grow in popularity as old fans return, and new players come to see what all the fuss is about.

You can grab Guild Wars Reforged on Steam now and see what all the cool kids were playing back in 2005. There are also a couple of bonus mission packs available for sale, but maybe see how you get on with the base game first.
