Tennessee football has landed four-star edge rusher Jordan Carter after a late recruiting battle that stretched deep into the first day of the early signing period on Dec. 3.
Carter announced his decision during a ceremony at his high school. Tennessee has not announced him as a signee yet.

Carter had been committed to Texas A&M for more than a year before reopening his recruitment a month before the early signing period.
Carter decommitted from Texas A&M on Nov. 1. He ultimately chose Tennessee over Georgia Tech, Texas and Auburn, who recently hired former UT offensive coordinator Alex Golesh as coach.
Carter also had scholarship offers from Alabama, Arkansas, Clemson, Georgia, Florida, Indiana, LSU, Michigan, Miami, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Oklahoma, Penn State, South Carolina, USC and Vanderbilt.
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementThe Vols won the competition for Carter, a 6-foot-3, 240-pounder from Douglasville, Georgia. He is ranked No. 23 edge rusher and No. 203 player overall in the 2026 class, according to 247Sports Composite.
As a senior this season, Carter had 82 tackles, 23 tackles-for-loss and 18 sacks for Douglas County High in Georgia.
