The Cleveland Browns have received some huge news regarding the return of Deshaun Watson. The former starting quarterback has been out due to an Achilles tear that was re-ruptured. Now, he is set for a return.

Watson's return comes at a very crucial moment in the Browns' season. Rookie Shedeur Sanders remains the starter, but would head coach Kevin Stefanki make a change if Watson is fully healthy?

Watson's time in Cleveland has not been the best. Prior to his injury, the high-paid signal caller suffered multiple off-field controversies that led to an 11-game suspension in the 2022 season.

In 2023, Watson suffered one of his many serious injuries, as he only appeared in six games before needing season-ending surgery to his throwing shoulder. In 2024, he would rupture his Achilles, and in 2025, he would undergo a second surgery after re-rupturing the same Achilles.

Watson has produced 3,365 yards, 19 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions in the 19 games he has played with the Browns. Though his journey with Cleveland has not lived up to his high price tag, he could still find a way to be back under center in 2025.

Sanders remains the starter, but Stefanski has shown that he is not afraid to make big changes at the quarterback position. It would not be shocking if Sanders was put back on the bench to potentially allow Watson to flourish in minimal games to either prove he will remain on the roster as a backup or to potentially bolster his trade status.

Either way, Watson will return to practice after being out for multiple months.
