Jonathan Kuminga's long-term future with the Golden State Warriors is once again a topic of discussion. The explosive forward started the season brightly, but found himself occupying a bench role before being ruled out of the past five games due to bilateral knee tendonitis.

Kuminga's position within the Warriors roster has been a hot topic for months, especially after his long and drawn-out contract negotiations over the summer. That's why Yahoo Sports' Kevin O'Connor has proposed a trade that could end Kuminga's tenure in the Bay Area and send a ready-made contributor back to the Warriors in the process.

O'Connor's proposed trade looks like this:

Warriors Get: Michael Porter Jr.

Brooklyn Nets Get: Kuminga, Moses Moody, Buddy Hield and some future draft picks

"I think about him (Porter Jr.) playing next to Steph and Draymond and just— and Jimmy Butler and just your Your cuts will be rewarded, your backdoor cuts to the rim and your movement off the ball to get to an open spot on the floor," O'Connor said during his "The Kevin O'Connor Show" podcast. "They're gonna find you, and so I love the fit for Michael Porter Jr. and especially if it's a one-year rental and see what happens.

Porter Jr. has another two years left of his current contract (including this season). He will earn $38.3 million this year and $40 million next year. As such, the Warriors would be adding another significant salary to their cap sheet in the short term. However, the 27-year-old is having a solid start to the season in Brooklyn, averaging 24.8 points, 7.6 rebounds and 3.2 assists. He's shooting 48.7% from the field and 38% from deep.

Adding Porter Jr. to the Warriors' rotation would mean the Warriors get some additional championship experience. On paper, this trade proposal would be a solid return for Golden State. However, where Kuminga is concerned, all we can do is wait and see how the front office chooses to proceed.
