Joel Klatt updates his top teams after Rivalry Week. He still loves Ohio State but who does he have below the Buckeyes?

What Joel Klatt said about Ohio State after Michigan win SaturdayStory byMark Russell, Buckeyes WireWed, December 3, 2025 at 1:04 AM UTC·4 min read

The regular season is now over, and Ohio State continues to prove why it is the No. 1 team in the land. Aside from the first few minutes of the game, the Buckeyes dominated Michigan to remain unbeaten. Overall, it was a fun Rivalry Week with some upsets and a few close calls.

However, now every week will be against an excellent opponent, unless you're in the ACC and a five-loss team is playing for the conference championship. Either way, some great matchups are coming Saturday as teams battle for the title of conference champs. Ohio State vs. Indiana, Georgia vs. Alabama, BYU vs. Texas Tech, and more.

But before we get there, how does Joel Klatt rank the top-10 after rivalry week? Let's see how the Fox Analyst's rankings compare to last week.

No. 10 - Alabama Crimson Tide

Last Week's Ranking - No. 10

What we think:

We'll give Alabama the benefit of the doubt as the Iron Bowl is a pretty big deal. Playing Auburn in one of the biggest rivalry games in the country can lend itself to weird things happening. However, there was nothing odd in the game, just mediocre play from the Crimson Tide. Now Alabama gets to play Georgia in the SEC Championship game, a rematch from earlier in the year where the Tide downed the Bulldogs in Athens. The question is, if 'Bama loses to Georgia, will they get in the College Football Playoff with three losses?

No. 9 - Oklahoma Sooners

Oklahoma Sooners wide receiver Javonnie Gibson (11) catches a pass during a college football game between the University of Oklahoma Sooners (OU) and the LSU Tigers at Gaylord Family – Oklahoma Memorial Stadium in Norman, Okla., Saturday, Nov. 29, 2025. Oklahoma won 17-13.Oklahoma Sooners wide receiver Javonnie Gibson (11) catches a pass during a college football game between the University of Oklahoma Sooners (OU) and the LSU Tigers at Gaylord Family – Oklahoma Memorial Stadium in Norman, Okla., Saturday, Nov. 29, 2025. Oklahoma won 17-13.

Last Week's Ranking - No. 9

What we think:

The Sooners pretty much guaranteed themselves a spot in the postseason with a win over LSU. It was a lackluster win, but a win nonetheless. We've said it before, and we'll say it again: The Oklahoma defense is no joke, but that offense certainly leaves something to be desired.

No. 8 - Notre Dame Fighting Irish

Nov 29, 2025; Stanford, California, USA; Notre Dame Fighting Irish running back Aneyas Williams (22) runs for a touchdown during the fourth quarter against the Stanford Cardinal at Stanford Stadium. Last Week's Ranking - No. 8

What we think:

Notre Dame has finished its regular season and has all but locked up a CFP berth. However, why are the Fighting Irish getting a pass on schedule? After falling to Miami and Texas A&M in weeks one and two, Notre Dame hasn't really played a great schedule. There was a 10-point win over an average USC squad, but not much more than that. The Hurricanes have a valid case as to why they should be in over the Irish.

No. 7 - Texas A&M Aggies

Nov 28, 2025; Austin, Texas, USA; Texas A&M Aggies wide receiver KC Concepcion (7) returns a punt during the first half against the Texas Longhorns at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium. Mandatory Credit: Scott Wachter-Imagn Images

Last Week's Ranking - No. 4

What we think:

Texas A&M played its way right out of a chance to play for the SEC crown with a loss to Texas. The Aggies have struggled in recent weeks and may have peaked too soon.

No. 6 - Ole Miss Rebels

Nov 28, 2025; Starkville, Mississippi, USA; Mississippi Rebels head coach Lane Kiffin looks on in the second half against the Mississippi State Bulldogs at Davis Wade Stadium at Scott Field. Mandatory Credit: Petre Thomas-Imagn Images

Last Week's Ranking - No. 6

What we think:

Ole Miss won the Egg Bowl but lost its coach. Lane Kiffin did what Lane Kiffin does... he bolted for the next big thing, leaving the Rebels without their leader for a playoff run. At 10-1, Ole Miss has secured its place in the CFP, but we wonder how much the committee will take into account that Kiffin is no longer roaming the Rebel sideline.

No. 5 - Texas Tech Red Raiders

Nov 29, 2025; Morgantown, West Virginia, USA; Texas Tech Red Raiders wide receiver Caleb Douglas (5) makes a catch and runs for extra yards during the second quarter against the West Virginia Mountaineers at Milan Puskar Stadium. Mandatory Credit: Ben Queen-Imagn ImagesNov 29, 2025; Morgantown, West Virginia, USA; Texas Tech Red Raiders wide receiver Caleb Douglas (5) makes a catch and runs for extra yards during the second quarter against the West Virginia Mountaineers at Milan Puskar Stadium. Mandatory Credit: Ben Queen-Imagn Images

Last Week's Ranking - No. 6

What we think:

Texas Tech made easy work of lowly West Virginia. Now the Red Raiders get a rematch with BYU in the Big 12 championship. Tech won easily over the Cougars three weeks ago, but beating a team twice in a season is never easy, and this time it will be on a neutral site.

No. 4 - Georgia Bulldogs

Nov 28, 2025; Atlanta, Georgia, USA; Georgia Bulldogs quarterback Gunner Stockton (14) throws a pass against the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets in the third quarter at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Mandatory Credit: Brett Davis-Imagn ImagesNov 28, 2025; Atlanta, Georgia, USA; Georgia Bulldogs quarterback Gunner Stockton (14) throws a pass against the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets in the third quarter at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Mandatory Credit: Brett Davis-Imagn Images

Last Week's Ranking - No. 3

What we think:

Georgia just couldn't get it going against rival Georgia Tech. The Bulldogs seemed to be in control most of the game, but could not put the Yellow Jackets away. Gunner Stockton will need to play better than what he showed against Tech if the Dawgs hope to win another SEC Championship.

No. 3 - Oregon Ducks

Oregon wide receiver Malik Benson breaks away for a touchdown as the Oregon Ducks take on the Washington Huskies on Nov. 29, 2025, at Husky Stadium in Seattle, Washington.Oregon wide receiver Malik Benson breaks away for a touchdown as the Oregon Ducks take on the Washington Huskies on Nov. 29, 2025, at Husky Stadium in Seattle, Washington.

Last Week's Ranking - No. 4

What we think:

The Ducks were in control of the entire game against Washington. Nothing too flashy, just fundamentally sound football. Quarterback Dante Moore keeps improving, and the Oregon defense is one of the top units in the country. With its only loss to No. 2 Indiana, the only mystery is what seed the Ducks will get in the CFP.

No. 2 - Indiana Hoosiers

Indiana Hoosiers running back Kaelon Black (8) headbutts teammates after scoring a touchdown Friday, Nov. 28, 2025, during the 100th annual Old Oaken Bucket game at Ross-Ade Stadium in West Lafayette.Indiana Hoosiers running back Kaelon Black (8) headbutts teammates after scoring a touchdown Friday, Nov. 28, 2025, during the 100th annual Old Oaken Bucket game at Ross-Ade Stadium in West Lafayette.

Last Week's Ranking - No. 2

What we think:

Indiana was a Cinderella story in 2024. The Hoosiers are a legit title contender in 2025. A Big Ten Championship showdown with Ohio State awaits.

No. 1 - Ohio State Buckeyes

Ohio State Buckeyes wide receiver Carnell Tate (17) catches a pass against the Michigan Wolverines in the second half of the NCAA football game at Michigan Stadium on Saturday, Nov. 29, 2025 in Ann Arbor, Michigan.Ohio State Buckeyes wide receiver Carnell Tate (17) catches a pass against the Michigan Wolverines in the second half of the NCAA football game at Michigan Stadium on Saturday, Nov. 29, 2025 in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

Last Week's Ranking - No. 1

What we think:

The Buckeyes are without a doubt the No. 1 team in the nation. Many of the so-called experts questioned what Ohio State would do if facing a bit of adversity. The Bucks answered that question loud and clear on Saturday. OSU was unfazed being down 6-0 and stormed back to win the game in convincing fashion... Just like the No. 1 team in the country should do. Bring on Indiana.
