Before we release our field hockey All-Scholastic teams, we need help from our readers. You will have a say in who wins Player of the Year honors in every sport. We've trimmed down the list of the area's best players into an even more elite group. Note: One player nominated per school.

Two-time league All-Star was last year's Patriot Ledger Player of the Year. ... Committed to play at Providence College. ... Said coach Chrissy O'Connor, "Shannon embodies excellence. She raises the standard for our entire program."

Katie Jones, Hanover
Senior center midfielder led the Hawks to the Patriot League title, recording 7 goals and 7 assists on the season. ... Two-time league All-Star has 12 goals and 28 assists in 57 career varsity games. ... Led Hanover (14-4-0) to the Division 3 Sweet Sixteen. ... Said coach Deb Bostick, "KJ was the quarterback of our team. She was one of my only starters (back) from last season, and not only did she have to change her position, but she also had to mold an entire team around her. She will truly be a hard player to replace next season."

Senior midfielder/defender made over 30 saves in the circle and chipped in 5 goals and 6 assists this season. ... Three-time Hockomock League All-Star concluded her career with 17 goals, 10 assists and over 200 saves. ... Repeat First Team All-Scholastic selection led OA (8-9-2) to the Division 2 state tournament. ...
