It was an exciting week of playoff football action as four Savannah teams were playing for berths in the state semifinals on Friday night.

Benedictine and Calvary Day rolled to dominating victories as the Cadets advanced to the Class 4A state semis, while Calvary punched its ticket to the Class A-3A Private School semifinals.

Jenkins lost a close game at West Laurens as the Warriors' season came to an end, and Savannah Christian lost at Fellowship Christian in its final game of the season.

There were also some impressive performances on the basketball court last week.

James Mobley IV, Calvary Day

The junior quarterback was 16 of 19 passing for 182 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and ran for 30 yards and another score on six carries in a playoff win over Whitefield Academy.

Stephen Cannon, Benedictine

The senior quarterback ran for 85 yards and three touchdowns and was 7 of 10 passing for 94 yards in a playoff win over Central-Carrollton.

Ca'Den Jones, Calvary Day

The junior ran for 135 yards and a career-high four touchdowns on 15 carries in the playoff win over Whitefield Academy.

Eron Mallard, Benedictine

The junior speedster rushed for 98 yards and a pair of scores on eight carries and had two catches for 22 yards in the win over Central.

Hayden Johanson, South Effingham

The 5-foot-10 senior had 15 points, 11 rebounds and four blocks in a win over KIPP Atlanta Collegiate.

Blaise Thomas, Savannah Christian

The senior quarterback rushed for 131 yards and a touchdown on 27 carries and was 11 of 21 passing for 92 yards and a touchdown in his final high school game, a playoff loss to Fellowship Christian.

Demetrius Holloway Jr., Jenkins

The senior quarterback was 8 of 15 passing for 127 yards and a pair of touchdowns and ran for 45 yards on seven carries in his last high school game, a 21-16 playoff loss at West Laurens.

Chris Perry, Bradwell

The senior wing, who recently signed to play basketball at the University of North Florida, had 13 points, eight rebounds, three assists, four blocks and two steals in a win over New Hampstead.

Chubb Rice, Savannah High

The junior had 23 points in a double-overtime win over Groves in the Joe Greene Tournament.

Destini McLemore, Bradwell

The sophomore had 18 points, eight rebounds, three assists and four steals in a win over Beach.

Kyje Davis, Groves

The sophomore had 21 points, three steals and two assists in a double-overtime loss to Savannah High.

Jah'Barri Felix, Bradwell

The junior guard had 23 points, five rebounds, three assists and four steals in the win over New Hampstead.
