Warning: SPOILERS ahead for Pluribus episode 4!Pluribus episode 5 is getting an early release from Apple TV, with a new episode of the sci-fi thriller arriving ahead of its typical Friday release slot. The story of Pluribus has been unfolding week-to-week on Apple TV, with the Rhea Seehorn-led post-apocalyptic series continuing to build atop its intriguing premise of Carol (Seehorn) fighting against humanity's shared consciousness.
Now, Apple TV has announced that Pluribus episode 5 will be arriving on Wednesday, November 26, two days ahead of when it would usually air. The announcement comes ahead of Thanksgiving in the United States, which is the most likely explanation for why the new episode is going to be arriving two days ahead of schedule. See the announcement below:
Pluribus episode 4 widened the world of the series, showcasing the perspective of Manousos (Carlos Manuel Vesga), the survivor in Puraguay, when Carol calls him. It also revealed the hive mind knows there is a way to reverse the effects of the virus, but refuses to answer any questions about it despite their inability to lie.
Episode 4 ended with Carol nearly killing Zosia (Karolina Wydra) in her attempt to gather more information. Luckily, the collective bodies surrounding her arrived to save her life. However, there's no indication as to what this means for the pair moving forward, nor how Carol is going to discover the truth. Luckily, answers will come earlier than expected.

The early release date for Pluribus episode 5 keeps it from intersecting with Thanksgiving, something that could lead to less viewership due to the holiday season. It also somewhat keeps the series from competing with Stranger Things season 5 part 1, which Netflix plans to release on Wednesday, November 26 at 8 p.m. ET. Pluribus will arrive earlier in the day.
Because of both the holidays and the major release Netflix has planned for this week, it makes sense for the upcoming episode to have been moved back. Not only does it help Apple with the initial viewership of episode 5, but it also keeps the show from having any hiccups due to all the events surrounding this week's release.
Thanks to this new release schedule, the answers surrounding Zosia's fate and what Carol will do next will arrive sooner than expected. However, it does mean Pluribus will have a nine-day break between episodes 5 and 6. Even so, it seems like the smart choice for Apple TV to make in accordance with the holiday season beginning.
