The New Orleans Saints lost in Week 13 to the Miami Dolphins, but amid the loss, the Saints saw some incredible promise for a few of their younger players.

Smyth is an international pathway player for the Saints and was activated to be the kicker in Week 13, with Blake Grupe cut and over Cade York. Smyth's hometown of Ireland, watching his first NFL field goal attempt, went nuts when he drilled it.
Charlie Smyth's hometown has an incredible reaction to Saints' kickers' first field goal
Michael McQuaid of NFL Ireland shared the incredible reaction from Smyth's hometown of Mayobridge, Ireland, and it was a very deserved reaction for the Saints' new kicker.
Smyth only had one attempt, either a field goal or an extra point, in his NFL debut. Kellen Moore asked Smyth to hit a 56-yard field goal for his first kick in the NFL.

More: Why Saints have a new kicker today, not Blake Grupe
It was one of the more impressive kicks from any NFL kicker this season, as Smyth's first NFL attempt was about as perfect as a 56-yard field goal could be. That impressive kick, via NFL on Fox, was his only attempt on the day, and an incredible way to begin his NFL career.
New Orleans needs to stick with Smyth going forward, as this one kick is enough to buy into. Hitting from so far out isn't a given, and not only did he hit it with plenty of distance to spare, but he did so on his first kick, and right down the middle.
