Eternally Yours, the vampire show from the executive producers of Ghosts, has cast its lead role. Since its premiere on CBS in October 2021, Ghosts has grown beyond just an adaptation of the BBC series. Led by Rose McIver and Utkarsh Ambudkar as Sam and Jay, the multi-cam sitcom has been a big hit for CBS.
Even though Ghosts season 5 has only recently debuted, season 6 has already been confirmed. Co-showrunners and executive producers Joe Port and Joe Wiseman are plotting their next supernatural comedy, Eternally Yours, at CBS. Although it is not a spinoff of Ghosts, the project serves as a nice companion to Sam and Jay's spirit shenanigans.
Deadline reports that Ed Weeks has been cast as the lead in the pilot for Eternally Yours. The actor, who is best known for his role as Dr. Jeremy Reed on The Mindy Project, will play a character named Charles. The pilot is set to begin filming in early 2026. After the pilot is filmed and edited, a decision will be made on whether to pick up Eternally Yours to series.

In the pilot, Charles is one half of a longtime vampire couple that's trapped in an endlessly strained marriage to Liz that has now been going on for five centuries. Although he was a noble in the Middle Ages, Charles is a weary bureaucrat these days. He relocates his family every couple of years to work around the fact that none of them ages.
Charles doesn't much like modernity or humans, for that matter, which makes it especially bad when his daughter starts dating a mere mortal. There is no word yet on who might play the other pivotal roles in the pilot. That will likely be announced as the project moves into production in the coming weeks and months.
In addition to Weeks's role on The Mindy Project, the British actor and writer recently had a role in the Blumhouse thriller Drop. His television credits include American Housewife, Not Dead Yet, and Dirty Sexy Funny. Behind the scenes, the single-cam Eternally Yours hails from CBS Studios. Port and Wiseman will serve as writers and executive produce alongside Eric Tannenbaum, Kim Tannenbaum, and Jason Wang.
The cast of Ghosts is key to the sitcom's success, helping the adaptation rank as broadcast television's top-rated sitcom with an average total of 8.3 million viewers. The choices of who will star in Eternally Yours will be key to tapping into that success and replicating that for other supernatural creatures.
