Lane Kiffin took the head coach job at LSU football, as announced Sunday. He's piecing together a staff that includes coaches from Ole Miss and what's left from Brian Kelly's tenure.
One name to keep an eye on as a possible addition to the Tigers' staff is former head coach Ed Orgeron. He and Kiffin worked together at Tennessee and USC. In 2019, Orgeron led LSU to a national championship and 15-0 record. He struggled to sustain that success and agreed to part ways with LSU in 2021.

The feeling is mutual for the school, according to reports in November, making a reunion between Kiffin and Orgeron a real possibility.
A Louisiana native, Orgeron remains well-connected in the state. Despite the ups and downs as a head coach, he was a successful recruiter when holding assistant roles.
