In what has been a busy week for Steve Sarkisian and his staff, they have left no stone unturned in their search for talent. While they added to the 2026 and 2027 classes yesterday, the Longhorns didn't stop there. They also focused on the 2028 class, extending an offer to offensive lineman Maxx Jones.

Currently, the Florida native is ranked as the eighth-best offensive lineman in his class by 247Sports. They also rank him as the 70th-best player in the nation and the 17th-best player from Florida. With his college debut still three years away, those rankings could change.

While the Longhorns would get a boost with Jones in the mix, they do face competition. He has also received offers from Alabama, Baylor, Florida State, Florida, and Houston. For programs that are looking to get an early start on building a strong offensive line in 2028, Jones has been a popular target.

Although the Longhorns do not commit in the 2028 class, they have been busy making connections. They have already made offers to various prospects such as Micah Rhodes, Brysen Wright, Ridge Janes, King Pitts, and Jalanie George. That list should continue to grow over the next few months.

As Jones continues to attract interest, the Longhorns will be a program to watch. They have made their interest clear early on as they try to build a bright future.
