The Algerian national team’s preparations for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, scheduled to take place in Morocco from December 21, 2025 to January 18, 2026, are about to get underway.

On that note, the Swiss head coach of the Fennecs, Vladimir Petković, has sent a call-up to Abderrahim Deghmoum, who plays for Egyptian club Al-Masry, inviting him to join the extended national squad ahead of the continental tournament.

Al-Masry confirmed on its official Facebook page that their Algerian midfielder has been called up, specifying that Deghmoum will join the Fennecs’ training camp in mid-December as part of preparations for the 2025 AFCON in Morocco.

Deghmoum, who has enjoyed an impressive start to the season, has featured in 15 matches for Al-Masry, netting 6 goals and providing 2 assists across all competitions.

Algeria, aiming for a third continental crown after their triumphs in 1990 and 2019, will compete in Group E, where they will face Mali, South Africa, and Namibia.
