Colleen Hoover's novels are a fan-favorite among readers, and adaptations of her work often find success thanks to a built-in fan base. With hits such as It Ends With Us and now Regretting You, Hoover's work has steadily become gold for the box office, and the recent success of Regretting You proves that. Now, more audiences can experience the story of Clara (Mckenna Grace), Miller (Mason Thames), Morgan (Allison Williams), Jonah (Dave Franco), and the Grant family as they deal with loss, love, and finding who they all are. Today, Collider is excited to share an exclusive featurette going behind the scenes of one of the most romantic moments in the film. We can also share that the film will be available on Digital beginning tomorrow, November 25.
The Josh Boone-directed film had a screenplay written by Susan McMartin and follows the story of Morgan and Clara after the loss of Morgan's sister Jenny (Willa Fitzgerald) and Morgan's husband and Clara's father, Chris (Scott Eastwood). The two die in a car accident, and through the discovery, Morgan and Jenny's partner, Jonah, learn the truth about why Jenny and Chris were together. Clara and Miller are trying to start their relationship, while Morgan and Jonah are coming to terms with being wronged. It is a story of grief and trying to find love in all the pain.
"I love the promposal scene," Grace says in the behind-the-scenes featurette. "I mean, it's such a good promposal! I wish Miller was real. I don't know what I'd even do if a guy took all these romantic little videos like 'Oh, will you go to prom with me?'" The scene in question comes at the end of the film when Miller sets up a beautiful moment with Clara's entire family to ask her to go to prom with him, and now you can get an inside look at how it happened!
Yet Another Box Office Success for a Colleen Hoover Story
While the box office for Regretting You wasn't groundbreaking, it does show that Hoover's stories draw crowds. The film cost roughly $25 million to make and brought in roughly $84 million in box office revenue. Regretting You more than tripled its budget at the box office, and fans are still talking about it. With the film being released on digital, it's likely to continue generating buzz with a wider audience! Now that we know how the promposal came to be, why not dive into the film?
You can watch Regretting You when it hits digital on November 25.
