Living in a microwave society means people want results right now. Gone are the days when NFL teams waited for 'Black Monday' to fire a football coach. Meanwhile, we're seeing record-setting buyouts at the NCAA level. Guys are making $50 million or more to leave. Thankfully, we've seen some stability from the Philadelphia Eagles, for the most part.

Sure, assistant coaches have been poached. That tends to happen with successful organizations. It isn't often that guys like Vic Fangio label their current gig as their last stop.

Some coaches aren't as safe in their positions as Fangio, though. You may have heard about a certain offensive coordinator in the Eagles' organization. He seems secure for now. Meanwhile, the Birds are down one of their more critical staff members.

David Caldwell leaves the Eagles to join the Florida Gators.

There has been a change at the top. No, Philadelphia isn't switching play callers as some of you hope. Kevin Patullo has neither been fired nor seen a shift in responsibilities.

It is being reported, however, that the Florida Gators are finalizing a deal with David Caldwell to become their next general manager. On3 Sports shared the news via their official X handle.

Caldwell's career as an NFL executive began as a scouting assistant with the Carolina Panthers (1996-97). He served as the Jacksonville Jaguars' GM for eight seasons. He has been an Eagles personnel executive since 2021.

An organization as successful as Philadelphia can always count on being raided by other NFL franchises and college programs. Still, all eyes are fixed on Coach Patullo to see if the Eagles may eventually make a change at his current position.
