Grand Theft Auto 6 leaks are among the most sought-after content out there, especially after the game's various delays have left fans desperate for a look at what's going on behind the scenes. Unfortunately, many of these "leaks" are in fact fake hoaxes trying to capitalize on GTA 6 hype.
However, a new, apparently legitimate GTA 6 leak (via Reddit) has surfaced in the form of a demo reel posted to Vimeo from a former Rockstar animator, Benjamin Chue. The gameplay footage features an early mo-cap animation with a character riding a bike, as well as what might be one of the main characters, Lucia, getting out of the back of a pickup truck.
Former Rockstar Employee's Demo Reel Contains GTA 6 Leak
The leak in question was posted in the form of a demo reel from former animator Benjamin Chue, who worked on various Rockstar projects, including GTA 4 and 5 (and apparently GTA 6 as well), Red Dead Redemption 2, Max Payne, and more.
The leak showcases footage from various Rockstar projects, with a look at mo-cap animation development from an early build of GTA 6 in the opening moments. Users online, such as Elevatorisbest, are excited to see a legitimate gameplay leak surface for once, as opposed to the frustrating hoaxes including AI-generated "footage" from the game that have proliferated on fake accounts lately.
GTA 6 Leak Shows How Far It's Come
While the roughly 5 seconds of leaked GTA 6 footage in Ben Chue's demo reel aren't nearly as exciting as, say, the third trailer reveal, they do show how far the game has come over the course of its long development. They're a reminder of just how much work has to go into making a game as massive as GTA 6.
While there's little solace in this fact, it may help recontextualize the need for two separate delays for Grand Theft Auto 6, with the hope that the game will be in a pristine state when it finally launches. It's probably better that Rockstar takes its time, but it also doesn't seem like fans will be able to handle a dreaded third delay.
